The Trumpeter Swans are Back in 2009

Trumpeter Swans have been seen on the lake every year now since 2006.  It has been reported as many as 14 have been seen at once.  It is believed that they are using the Phantoms on their migration path, as well as at least one couple spending the summer.  It looks like they have found a home.

Trumpeter Swans Sighting In 2008

Trumpeter Swans have been seen on the lake by some residents during late 2008.  One resident has seen up to 11 Trumpeter Swans at once on the lake that must have been migrating through; they had stayed for about 3 weeks and then left before the weather got too cold.

The Trumpeter Swans are Back in 2007

The trumpeter swans are back on the Phantom Lakes this year.  They have been sited visiting the Upper and Lower Phantom Lakes by riparian owners.  In the Conservation Warden Report - Waukesha/Milwaukee Team Report, March 2007 "Warden Zeihen was working fishing enforcement on Upper Phantom Lake when he heard the call of a bird that he had not heard previously.  Using binoculars, Warden Zeihen was able to identify two Trumpeter Swans making the calls.  The swans were "trumpeting" when being approached by Mute Swans who were in the "threat" display."
